Privacy Policy

How we handle your information when you browse, shop, or get in touch with Aztec Pewter.

Who we are

Aztec Pewter operates aztecpewter.com. We use personal information to respond to enquiries, manage purchases and exchanges, and operate our online store. For privacy questions or requests, contact aztecpewter@gmail.com and address your message to the Privacy Contact.

Information we collect

When you place an order, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number, billing and shipping addresses, products purchased, order notes, and payment status or transaction references. If you create an account, we also keep your account details and order history.

When you contact us, we receive your contact details and the contents of your message. Please do not include card numbers, passwords, or other sensitive information in a contact message.

Our website and service providers may record technical information such as your IP address, browser, device information, pages requested, and security or error logs to operate, troubleshoot, and protect the website. The store also records cart and checkout session information.

How we use your information

  • Process payments and orders, calculate delivery charges, and arrange shipping.
  • Send order confirmations, status updates, and other service messages.
  • Answer questions and manage exchanges, problems, and privacy requests.
  • Maintain business records, prevent fraud, secure the website, and meet applicable legal obligations.

Providing contact details for an order or enquiry does not by itself sign you up for marketing. If we offer optional marketing messages, we will request consent where required and provide a way to unsubscribe.

Who receives your information

Authorised members of our team receive customer enquiries and order notifications, including copies sent to staff email accounts so they can help with your request or purchase.

We share relevant information with service providers needed to run the store: our website host and technical support providers; payment providers such as PayPal; shipping services such as Canada Post; and email providers including Google/Gmail and Microsoft email services used by our team. Providers receive information needed for their role and may handle it under their own privacy policies. Payment details entered through a payment provider are processed by that provider; our store receives information such as payment status and transaction references.

We do not sell or rent customer personal information. We may disclose information with your consent, where required or permitted by law, or where reasonably necessary to protect people, our business, or the security of the website.

Some providers may process or store information outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of that jurisdiction.

Cookies and website features

WordPress and WooCommerce use cookies and similar storage to keep items in your cart, maintain checkout sessions, support account sign-in, and remember relevant preferences. Payment services and embedded third-party content may also use their own cookies or receive technical information when you interact with those features.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent the cart, checkout, or account features from working correctly.

Website email and Google access

Our website uses FluentSMTP and a business Gmail account to send order messages and other website emails. The connection processes recipients, message content, and associated email details for delivery and troubleshooting. Only authorised administrators connect the business mailbox; customers do not need to grant access to their own Google accounts.

Our Google connection is used for website email delivery, not advertising or training artificial-intelligence models. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs is subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

How long we keep information

We retain order, payment-reference, and correspondence records as needed for fulfilment, customer support, accounting, disputes, and applicable legal requirements. Retention varies with the type of record and the reason it is needed.

FluentSMTP is currently configured to delete its website email logs after 14 days. This does not delete copies in staff mailboxes, order records, provider systems, or backups. Backups may retain older copies until they are replaced or removed under the relevant backup process.

Security and your choices

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information and limit access to people who need it for their work. No website, email service, or electronic storage system can guarantee complete security.

You may contact us to request access to or correction of your personal information, ask about its use or disclosure, or request deletion or withdrawal of consent, subject to applicable law and records we must retain. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Withdrawing information needed to complete an order may prevent us from providing that service.

If you have a privacy concern, email aztecpewter@gmail.com. We will review it and respond. You may also contact the privacy regulator responsible for your concern.

Updates to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or information practices change. The date above shows when it was last updated. Where a change requires fresh consent or notice, we will provide it as required.
